Smart functionalities in batteries - guest lecture by prof. Dr. Robert Dominko at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology

Dr. Robert Dominko, professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the University of Ljubljana and leading researcher at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, will hold a lecture on the subject of sensors and self-healing functions in batteries entitled "Smart functionalities in batteries" on the May 10th, in room 208 starting at 10 a.m.

Professor Dominko is a world-renowned expert in materials science and electrochemistry. He is the head of the worlds leading research group in the field of batteries at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana. He successfully coordinates numerous European projects and cooperates with global industrial partners. Among other things, Professor Dominko is the winner of the HONDA Initiation Grant for an innovative proposal that he then upgraded to create prototype batteries. He is strongly connected with the Battery 2030+ and Battery Europe initiatives, where he is one of the co-leaders of the task force preparing a strategy on the education level. He has published more than 200 scientific papers in prestigious international journals such as Science. His papers have been cited more than 17,000 times with an h-index of 68, according to Google Scholar. He is a member of the Slovenian Academy of Engineering.

The lecture is one of the activities of the bilateral project "Carbons derived from biomass as anodes in sodium-ion batteries" between the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology and the National Chemical Institute in Ljubljana. Coordinator from Montenegrin side is prof. Dr. Veselinka Grudić.

We invite colleagues, students, and all interested listeners to attend the lecture.
