Councils
The Senate of the University of Montenegro has three councils: the Council for Social Sciences, the Council for Natural and Technical Sciences and the Council for Arts. The Council of the Senate, upon the decision of the rector, is chaired by one of the vice-rectors, who is also a member of the Council.
The Council of the Senate consists of representatives of organizational units of the University, from related field. Affiliation of an organizational unit to one of the Senate councils is determined by the registry act.
Provisions of the UMNE Statute relating to appointment of members of the Senate from among academic staff with academic titles apply to election of members of the Senate. A member of the Senate council cannot be a member of the Senate.
The Council of the Senate considers proposals in the procedure of promotion into academic or scientific title and gives an opinion to the Senate on those proposals, considers proposals in the process of obtaining the title of Doctor of Philosophy, and other issues within the competence of the Senate.
