History of the faculty




The Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Montenegro was founded on 02. July 1980 by the decision of the Workers’ Council of the Complex organization of associated work  Lovćeninvest in Titograd, like Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Veljko Vlahović in Titograd.

The reasons of founding are the real needs of Montenegro for education of high-degree engineering staff, especially intensified by the destructive earthquake which hit Montenegro in 1979.

By the founding of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Titograd, the core of the technical faculties was circled of the University of Veljko Vlahović in Titograd.

From founding to constituting, the Faculty worked as Faculty of Civil Engineering in founding.

The constituting procedure of the Faculty started when the Faculty Council was constituted.

The first meeting of the Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Titograd was held on 07. October 1983.

Beside the Council and acting dean, scientific-teaching Council was constituted.

Assembly of SR Montenegro, on separated meetings of Councils of associated work and Councils of Municipalities which were held on 15.December 1983, made a “Decision on confirmation of provisions of Statute of Faculty of Civil Engineering in Titograd, which are of great importance for realization of special social interest in this teaching-scientific area”. 

By the Ruling of District Commercial Court in Titograd, no.71/84 from 09.May1984 RO Faculty of Civil Engineering was constituted in Titograd, with full responsibility.

The mentioned acts and rules marked the procedure of constitution of Faculty of Civil Engineering in Titograd.
