Start Your Career in Cybersecurity: Course for Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Application Deadline May 1st
In collaboration with UN1QUELY and the NGO Edicon, the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub of the University of Montenegro, established under the Ulysses project, is organizing a cybersecurity course for final year students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF) and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (PMF), as well as for postgraduate students and teaching associates.
UN1QUELY has prepared a one-week intensive course that enables students with a good IT background and additional independent learning from recommended resources to gain a solid understanding of the entire field of cybersecurity, including all three key areas: information security management, defensive cybersecurity operations, and offensive cybersecurity operations (ethical hacking).

Course Description:
Participants will first undergo the "Introduction to Cybersecurity" module, which introduces students to the fundamentals of the discipline, providing a comprehensive insight into the digital space and its significance for modern society.
This initial module is the first step towards shaping a future career in cybersecurity and covers basic cybersecurity concepts, possible career paths, terminology, legal frameworks, and ethical principles governing the field.
The introductory module provides participants with the basic knowledge needed to understand and function in the cybersecurity field.
After the introductory module, participants will explore the three key areas of cybersecurity with a mentor in detail: information security management, defensive and offensive cybersecurity operations, focusing on four critical professions such as:
- Information Security Officer, data protection system management, risk management, and compliance with international regulations
- Security Analyst, incident response, Blue Team
- Information Security Engineer, implementation of security controls
- Penetration Tester, security testing, Red Team.
Mentor: Branko Džakula
Cybersecurity expert and practitioner (vCISO), entrepreneur, trainer, and mentor, co-founder of companies UN1QUELY & Secfix and the information security research association ABIIS, with over ten years of experience in information security. Holder of the CISM certificate, senior lead implementator of ISO 27001 standards. Branko has a masters degree in computer science with a focus on Secure SDLC.
The duration of this introductory course is five days, two hours daily live with a mentor, along with additional recommended materials for independent study.
Prerequisites for participation include knowledge and basic practical skills in network administration, familiarity with operating systems (Windows and Linux), basic knowledge of web applications and technologies used for their development, and good proficiency in English. Attendance and participation in all activities are mandatory.
