Nikola Mihaljević was born on 8th September in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He finished his elementary school in 1980 in Podgorica and High School  “Slobodan Škerović” in Podgorica in  1984.godine.  He enrolled studies of Mathematics at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Podgorica in 1985 whereas he graduated from this Faculty in 1990 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
