The University of Montenegro announces a call for applications for short-term research stays abroad

For the second consecutive year, the University of Montenegro is pleased to announce an internal call for the award of scholarships to young researchers for organizing research stays abroad. These research scholarships are part of a program aimed at the development of science and the advancement of our own faculty at the University of Montenegro, particularly in enhancing the competencies of young researchers and continuously improving the quality of scientific research.

The University will support research stays for ten young researchers (applicants) at renowned higher education and research institutions in Europe or highly developed companies that have research and development centers.

Eligible applicants for the research stays include:

- Doctoral students at UCG who are not employed and are not recipients of other doctoral scholarships,

- Teaching assistants who are doctoral students,

- Teaching assistants with a doctorate (equivalent to research associates or research positions at UCG) and are not recipients of other doctoral scholarships.

Duration of research stay:

- Minimum of one month

Host institutions:

- Preference will be given to institutions of higher repute, for example, institutions on the Shanghai List

Number of positions:

- 10

Amount of scholarship:

- €2,500 net (regardless of the length of stay), covering travel expenses, accommodation, and living costs

 

Application deadline:

- May 15, 2024

End date for research stay:

- February 28, 2025

 

Application process:

Required documents for application include:

- A motivation letter, including the applicants contact information (maximum one A4 page),

- A completed application form (detailed and high-quality applications will be given preference),

- An invitation letter from the host institution,

- CV (maximum three A4 pages),

- An abstract of the results of the masters or doctoral thesis (maximum one A4 page),

- Certified copy/copies of diploma(s)/certificate(s),

- Transcript of grades for all previously completed levels of study,

- Proof of proficiency in English or the language officially used in the host country,

- Proof that the applicant is not employed (except for UCG associates),

- A signed declaration of any previous use of mobility during doctoral studies (or during engagement as an associate with a doctoral degree).

Documents listed in points 1-5 should be submitted in English.

The evaluation and ranking of applications will be conducted by the Scientific Committee of the University of Montenegro. Applications should be sent via email to: naucniodborucg@ucg.ac.me

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously been recipients of this scholarship for the advancement of young researchers at the University of Montenegro.

The decision on the award of the scholarship will be made by the Rector of UCG, based on the proposal submitted by the Scientific Committee.

[1] Associates hired at the University of Montenegro, who are doctoral students in fields where no doctoral programs are available at the University of Montenegro, cannot apply for a stay at the institution where they have doctoral student status.
