Basic Information - Quality Assurance Center




                       

The Quality Assurance Center is a part of the organizational structure of the Rectorate of the University, created to ensure the system of quality assurance at the University.

 Quality Assurance Center of the University of Montenegro has a very active role in the continuous improvement of the quality at the University in order to achieve the highest standards and increase the visibility of the University.

Quality Assurance Center presents a comprehensive approach for developing institutional mechanism, regarding the continuous process of evaluation (tracking, evaluating, retaining, and improving) and coordination between work program and the initiatives with a long-term goal of application scientific, artistic, vocational, educational development and qualifications of all participants involved in the work process at the University.

Among many other activities, the Centar is amenable for implementation of the quality system, production of documentations, coordination of programs and self-evaluation activities, and providing methodical help for all employees at the University. The Center is authorized for strategic collaboration with the partners and scientific institutions in the field of quality implementation system and education of teaching and administrative staff about adopted quality standards.

The center is composed of two boards- Master’s Degree Monitoring Board and The Quality Assurance Board.

By the end of 2016, all elaborations for accreditation of all study programs and all cycles of studies were incorporated and directed to the amenable institutions for further realization of accreditation with the aid of the Center. Master’s Degree Monitoring Board showed improvement, especially with the application of themes in the field of social sciences. A new practice of publishing a content of a master thesis in the Bulletin of the University was launched and the mechanism for controlling the content was defined.

A significant result has been obtained in realization of student questionnaire as a useful mechanism for the quality assurance process, competent staff and other essential elements. Meetings and communication with the sub-deans resulted in greater number of students than it was case in the previous period. The analysis of survey data by the Quality Commissions and Councils and a way of reporting results were also established.

The Quality Assurance Center produced the first draft of Quality Assurance and Improvement Strategy and the Center participates in realization of the Study for monitoring the graduated students, organized by the Ministry of Education. This is a useful mechanism which provides the guidelines for development of the study programs and teaching results.

The Center launched an electrical brochure with all important research equipment at the University of Montenegro and the system for record, tracking and control of research equipment and software. Digitalization and appliance are expected to begin soon.

The plagiarism software was obtained at the end of 2016, and in the same time the initiative for identification of teaching staff base at all units was introduced and organization of work practice was defined. One of the activities of the Center is a proposal to organize alumni club in cooperation with the Career building center.

The Center will strive to improve development of the quality system in the future. It will be focused on the students and their needs and improvement of strategic documentation. The Center will intensify all activities for spreading quality culture especially through the lectures, trainings, and activities that include all employees at the University, in order to participate more actively in the process of quality improvement. The application of existing and development of new mechanisms for quality improvement is a priority, especially in the field of implementation and evaluation of new study program, analysis of admission policy, analysis of passed exams, development and control of work practice, control of teaching regularity, better cooperation with the business sector and alumni club, and development of lifelong learning program. Furthermore, it is necessary to provide all additional measures for improving the master study program, not only a mechanism for application but all stages.
